About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force's Air Education and Training Command, specifically the 502d Air Base Wing at Joint Base San Antonio, has issued a Request for Information seeking market research on the Rohde & Schwarz (R&S) PR200 portable receiver system for situational awareness and mobile direction finding capabilities. This RFI is designed to gather information from potential contractors about their capabilities to provide this brand-specific requirement, including delivery timelines, compliance certifications, and awareness of competitive equipment options. The government is conducting this market survey to determine the appropriate acquisition strategy and will use responses for technical and acquisition planning purposes only. All questions and responses must be submitted in writing via email to SrA Davion Blanks and SSgt Grant Jackson no later than June 20, 2025. The RFI emphasizes that this is purely an information-gathering exercise with no guarantee of future contract award, and no evaluation results will be shared with participants.
This opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, indicating that participation is restricted to small business concerns. The RFI specifically targets the Rohde & Schwarz PR200 as the brand name requirement, suggesting this may be the incumbent or preferred system. While no specific award values or budget ranges are disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice, vendors are being asked to provide information about their socio-economic business classifications, delivery capabilities, potential DoD partnership restrictions, and compliance with relevant standards. The government is particularly interested in understanding the competitive landscape and whether there are alternative solutions available in the market. The relatively short response window of seven days from posting to deadline suggests this may be part of an accelerated acquisition timeline or preliminary market assessment phase.
