About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center (AFMC) is seeking sources for F-35 AGE Extension Cord Reel Carts through a Sources Sought/Request for Information pre-solicitation notice. The procurement involves developing and delivering 45 specialized steel wagon assemblies with mounted extension cord reels, specifically designed for F-35 depot maintenance equipment. Contractors must provide one prototype for government engineering representative (GER) verification, with subsequent delivery of 44 additional units following prototype acceptance. Key requirements include meeting drawing specifications (X202023589 Rev A), ensuring all components are free of foreign object debris (FOD), and complying with information assurance standards outlined in AFI 33-200. The solicitation is open until February 18, 2025, with interested contractors required to coordinate drawing package requests directly through the government procurement contracting officer.

This opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, targeting smaller manufacturing firms capable of producing specialized AGE (Aerospace Ground Equipment) extension cord wagon assemblies. Delivery timelines are structured with the prototype due within 45 business days of contract award, followed by 20 units within 90 business days of prototype acceptance, and remaining units to be completed by November 1, 2025. Components must be sourced from original manufacturers or authorized resellers, avoiding suppliers from suspect countries, and must comply with Trade Agreements Act requirements. Contractors will need to sign a non-disclosure agreement for accessing additional technical documentation, with the government retaining exclusive rights to modify design specifications. Deliveries will be made to Building 237 at Hill Air Force Base in Utah, with Spencer Black serving as the primary government engineering representative for inspection and acceptance.
