About this opportunity
Naval Air Systems Command awarded a firm-fixed-price contract N0001926C0134 to Parker Meggitt Defense Systems, Inc. for $30.2 million on June 16, 2026, covering base production and two option lots of F/A-18E/F Infrared Search & Track Block II Environmental Control Unit Weapons Replaceable Assemblies for full rate production.
The award was made on a sole-source basis under 10 U.S.C. 2304(C)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, justified by PMDSI's status as original equipment manufacturer and the unacceptable schedule risk of qualifying an alternative vendor. Developing a production-representative system and achieving flight-test qualification would require approximately nine years, threatening program schedule. A sources-sought notice posted on SAM.gov on January 30, 2026 generated no competitive responses. The contract is funded through fiscal years 2025–2027 via Aircraft Procurement Navy appropriations and Navy Working Capital Funds. Place of performance is Patuxent River, MD. Justification and Approval number 26-0094 was signed on April 29, 2026.
