About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is soliciting quotations for F-16 Accelerometer Assemblies (NSN 6680-01-039-7817WF), quadruple-redundant acceleration sensing assemblies composed of cast aluminum chassis, eight linear force-balanced accelerometers, and associated electrical connectors. This acquisition is restricted to two qualified sources: Shiloh Industries (CAGE 55097) and Lockheed Martin (CAGE 81755), though awards may be made to vendors if manufacturing is performed by these qualified sources. Key contract requirements include submission of a Counterfeit Prevention Plan, First Article Test Report documentation, compliance with specified engineering data and manufacturing standards (including leaded solder requirements per Air Force Airworthiness Advisory M-05-01), supply chain traceability documentation to be retained for ten years post-final payment, and packaging and marking compliance with MIL-STD-130 and MIL-STD-129R standards. Evaluation will be based solely on price or cost, with an evaluation cost factor of $4,000.00 for First Article testing added to the government's assessment. Quotations are due by April 24, 2026, with bidders offered two options: Bid A requiring First Article approval plus one production unit with 270 calendar days for FA submission and 120 calendar days after FA approval for production articles, or Bid B waiving FA requirements for two production units with delivery on or before December 31, 2027.

This is not a small business set-aside acquisition. Shiloh Industries and Lockheed Martin are the established qualified sources, with Lockheed Martin currently serving as a known supplier of this component. The government is procuring a total quantity of two units for foreign military sales to Taiwan (Case TW-D-SAD/045). Contractors desiring qualified source status must submit qualification packages and satisfy ten primary qualification requirements, including possession of manufacturing and inspection facilities, a complete data package, ESA-approved engineering compliance, and submission of a pre-contract award qualification article at the offeror's expense; the estimated cost for qualification is $4,000.00 with an estimated 365-day completion timeline. Performance location is within the United States, with delivery to DTW004 (origin). Pricing is solicited on a range basis (1-2 EA, 3-4 EA, 5-10 EA, 11-15 EA, and 16+ EA), and higher-level contract quality requirements per ISO 9001-2015 apply, requiring submission of all deliverables via WIDE Area Workflow (WAWF) for payment requests and receiving reports.
