The notice indicates an intent to award a non-competitive contract directly to Detecta Chem, Inc. under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The procurement is classified under NAICS code 334516 with a small business size standard of 1,000 employees and is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside. The special notice serves as the sole solicitation, with no additional written solicitation to be issued.

Contractors interested in this opportunity are invited to submit a capability statement demonstrating why competitive procurement would benefit the Air Force, with submissions due by 5:00 PM Eastern Time on February 18, 2025. The government will evaluate received information to determine whether to proceed with competitive procurement, though the final decision rests exclusively with the government. Eligible contractors must be able to provide the specified Explosive Detection Cards and submit their capability statement to SrA Connor Peppard via email at connor.peppard@us.af.mil.
