About this opportunity
The Department of State US Embassy Athens seeks moving services to relocate from the Politia Business Center to the Chancery Building in Athens, Greece, with proposals due August 19, 2026. Amendment 0001, effective August 12, 2026, deleted Item 6.1 (Office 1 - North Building Ground Floor) from the Statement of Work; all other terms remain unchanged.
Place of performance is Athens, Greece. The awardee must operate an established business with all required licenses and permits and maintain a permanent address in Greece. The work involves moving equipment and materials from two source locations—the PBC building (6th, 7th, and 8th floors at 109-111 Mesogeion Avenue) and the Vasilissis Sofias premises—including Dexion steel shelving racks, storage cabinets, a heavy-duty cash safe (approximately 600 lbs empty), platform/floor scales, multifunctional printers, filing cabinets, artwork and paintings, an enclosed server cabinet (up to 42U size), and pre-packed boxes. The contractor is responsible for professionally packing artwork larger than standard cartons, handling all contractor-packed items, and unpacking and reassembling those items at destination. Embassy personnel will pack items suitable for boxing and empty all cabinets and safes prior to the move. Designated Embassy representatives will direct crews and specify final placement at both locations, with dedicated escorts assigned for safes and sensitive assets.
The contractor must obtain Defense Base Act insurance covering employees, with premium costs included in pricing and policies submitted within five days of award. SAM registration is required prior to proposal submission for quotations valued above $40,000. The contractor must develop contingency plans for alternative routes, as the Embassy will maintain primary access through personnel elevators and a subterranean tunnel. NAICS code 488991 (Packing and Crating); PSC V003.
