About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document from a site visit held on July 30, 2026, addressing clarifications for a federal contract solicitation involving relocation and moving services at U.S. Embassy premises.
The solicitation requires offerors to obtain Defense Base Act (DBA) insurance covering employees, with premium costs included in pricing and policies to be submitted within five days of award. SAM registration is mandatory prior to proposal submission for quotations valued above $40,000, with failure to register resulting in non-responsibility determination. The moving services involve two primary locations: the PBC building (6th, 7th, and 8th floors at 109–111 Mesogeion Avenue) and the Vasilissis Sofias premises. Items to be moved include 4 Dexion steel shelving racks (72" x 24" x 72"), 7 storage cabinets (36" x 18" x 72"), a heavy-duty cash safe (approximately 60" H x 19.25" W x 28" D, weighing 600 lbs empty), platform/floor scales, multifunctional printers, filing cabinets, artwork and paintings, an enclosed server cabinet (up to 42U size), and various pre-packed boxes. U.S. Embassy personnel will pack items suitable for boxing and empty all cabinets and safes prior to the move. The contractor is responsible for professionally packing artwork larger than standard cartons, handling all contractor-packed items, and unpacking/reassembling those items at destination. The Embassy will maintain access through personnel elevators and a subterranean tunnel but requires contractors to develop contingency plans using alternative routes. Designated Embassy representatives will be present at both origin and destination locations to direct crews and specify final placement, with dedicated escorts assigned for safes and sensitive assets.
