About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center seeks three metal powder sieving vacuum systems—one 9053 SSS Sonic Powder Conditioner (SPC-ATEX) and two standard 9053 SSS units—with proposals due June 11. The procurement is a total small business set-aside under NAICS 332117 (Powder Metallurgy Part Manufacturing), PSC 3443.
Place of performance is Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (Building 3001, Door G70), with delivery required on or before October 2, 2026. The systems must interface with existing GE Concept Laser M2 Series 5 metal laser powder bed fusion 3D printers and handle hazardous and reactive metal powders including nickel, cobalt chrome, and aluminum alloys. Each unit must feature integrated vacuum extraction, buffer hoppers with automatic feed rate control, interchangeable sieve sets (75-micron for nickel and aluminum; 63-micron for cobalt chrome; two per system), dual agitation methods (ultrasonic and vibratory), integrated measurement scales, and explosion-proof designs compliant with ATEX Zone 20 for aluminum handling with CE or UL safety certifications. Systems must be capable of sieving under inert gas atmosphere and include a powder conveyor system equivalent to the Piab FC.P100.TX2.32 for aluminum. Contractors must demonstrate a minimum of five years' experience producing comparable powder handling and sieving systems and provide redacted customer references from purchases within the past twelve months. The solicitation uses firm fixed-price pricing on an "Each" basis. Evaluation will be based solely on price as the determining factor for award. Inspection and acceptance occur at both the destination and contractor's facility. Contracting officer is Sondra Groth (Sondra.groth@us.af.mil).
