About this opportunity
The General Services Administration is soliciting engine lathes for the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center under a total small business set-aside, with quotations due September 21, 2026, at 2:00 PM Eastern Time. This is a firm-fixed-price RFQ conducted under FAR Parts 12 and 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
The requirement is for three toolroom/precision floor-mounted engine lathes: two units for Cannon Air Force Base, New Mexico (CLIN 0001), and one unit for Travis Air Force Base, California (CLIN 0002). All unit prices must be quoted FOB Destination and include all applicable shipping, freight, handling, and delivery costs to the applicable location; no separate shipping CLIN will be used. Delivery shall not exceed 365 days after contract award, with inspection and acceptance at destination.
Technical specifications include 220V, 3-phase, 60Hz power; geared head; 18-inch center-to-center distance; spindle speeds of 125 to 3,000 RPM (maximum 4,000 RPM; 3,500 RPM is acceptable); 1.25-inch spindle hole diameter; 11-inch swing over bed; thread range of 11 to 108 per inch; and reference dimensions of 71.5" L x 31" W x 72.75" H with 2,250 lbs weight (dimensions and weights are reference only; smallest required space is 10' x 10'). Lathes must include both a bed-mounted tool turret and quick-change tooling as two separate required components. A toolroom lathe with a compliant spindle drive and digital/servo threading control, or alternatively a threading gearbox, satisfies the threading requirement.
NAICS 333517, PSC 3416. Evaluation uses Lowest Price Technically Acceptable, ranking quotes by aggregate price with the lowest-priced vendor's technical package evaluated first on a pass/fail basis. Buy American (FAR 52.225-1 and 52.225-2) and Nonmanufacturer Rule (FAR 52.219-33) apply. Offerors must be registered in GSA's ASSIST System prior to award.
