Place of performance is 400 First Street, N.W., Washington, DC 20534. The scope includes replacement of elevator machines, VVVF drives, controllers, governors, safeties, doors, operators, and cab interiors; removal and disposal of asbestos-containing materials and lead-based paint; concrete and masonry repairs; construction of a separate elevator motor room entrance with exterior door and stairs; electrical alterations; HVAC installation; and fire alarm modifications. Bid bond equal to 20% of offer price is required for offers exceeding $100,000; upon award, contractors must furnish performance and payment bonds at 100% of contract price within 10 calendar days.
