About this opportunity

The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), a division of the National Institutes of Health, is soliciting biostatistical and bioinformatics services for the third and final year of a three-year mitochondrial genomics analysis project, with proposals due September 4, 2026 at 3:00 PM EST. This is a single-source, noncompetitive procurement awarded to Boston University School of Public Health under the scientific leadership of Dr. Chunyu Liu, determined through market research to be the only source reasonably capable of maintaining continuity and methodological consistency with prior-year results.

The contractor shall estimate mitochondrial DNA copy number, identify mitochondrial sequence variants and heteroplasmy, perform quality control, maintain methodological consistency with Years 1 and 2 analyses, and deliver an integrated three-year dataset, data dictionary, user guide, statistical summaries, and documentation of analytical methods. The work supports the Dynamic Genome research program, Framingham Heart Study, and TOPMed (TransOmics for Precision Medicine) program. The period of performance runs from September 28, 2026 through September 27, 2027. The NAICS code is 611310, Colleges, Universities, and Professional Schools; the PSC code is R499, Support–Professional: Other. The acquisition is conducted under FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, and carries no small business set-aside.
