About this opportunity

The United States Marine Corps, specifically the Regional Contracting Office at MCRD Parris Island, is conducting market research to identify potential vendors for solid waste dumpster services in support of hurricane evacuation efforts at Fort Knox, KY. The agency is seeking up to 10 solid waste dumpsters with weekly trash removal capabilities during the anticipated hurricane season from June 1 through November 30, 2025. This Sources Sought synopsis is a preliminary information gathering effort to determine market availability and contractor capabilities, with interested businesses required to provide specific documentation including small business status, GSA/FSS contract details, CAGE code, DUNS number, and a contractor capabilities statement. Vendors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and demonstrate technical competency based on the draft Performance Work Statement. The response deadline is May 21, 2025, with the government reserving the right to issue multiple contracts for this requirement.

The procurement is not set aside for any specific business classification, and no incumbent contractors are mentioned in the documentation. The initial requirement involves providing 40 dumpsters to support the evacuation of 8,000 recruits and personnel, with services to be performed at Marine Corps Base Albany, GA, and initially staged at Fort Knox, KY. The contract will be firm-fixed price, with payment only for actual services rendered and the potential for early termination. Contractors will be responsible for delivering clean, sanitized, free-standing dumpsters, performing daily cleaning, supplying trash bags, and removing dumpsters at contract conclusion. The contract will be managed by Captain Zachary Keener, with invoicing processed through Wide Area Workflow after task completion. While no specific budget range is provided, the government emphasizes comprehensive operational responsibility, including insurance and liability for contractor personnel.
