About this opportunity

The USDA Forest Service has published a Special Notice announcing its intent to award a sole source contract to MYAC Consulting, Inc. for dozer curtain and cab fire protection services through the National Technology and Development Program (NTDP). This is a Notice of Proposed Contract Action Synopsis indicating the government's intention to negotiate with only one source under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), rather than conducting a competitive procurement. The notice was posted on July 24, 2025, and will remain open for responses until August 1, 2025. The proposed contract falls under NAICS code 541990 with a size standard of $19.5 million and is anticipated to run from September 30, 2025, through June 30, 2026. The agency emphasizes this is not a solicitation and requests for such will receive no response.

The primary purpose of this notice is to conduct market research and determine whether there are other qualified sources capable of providing the required services, which could potentially lead to a competitive procurement in the future. Interested contractors must submit their technical capabilities and experience in writing to Skylar Brown at skylar.brown@usda.gov by August 1, 2025, at 11:00 AM MST. Respondents must provide specific information including their business size classification (small business, disadvantaged business, veteran-owned small business, or HUBZone certified), appropriate NAICS code, and Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) number. The government will only consider responses that provide clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous, and any submitted information becomes government property. This market research initiative allows the Forest Service to validate its sole source determination while providing an opportunity for other qualified firms to demonstrate their capabilities for potential future competitive opportunities.
