About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Energy published this Limited/Sole Source Justification Notice for the urgent procurement of 2,100,000 U.S. gallons of Turbine Fuel, Aviation (JAA) valued at approximately $5.2 million. The justification was issued under unusual and compelling urgency provisions following a stop-work order issued to Petromax Refining LLC under its existing contract, creating a critical fuel shortage situation. DLA Energy determined that Petromax was the only vendor capable of delivering the required fuel quantity within the specified timeframe to prevent potential inventory shortages. The contract SPE60225P0456 was awarded to Petromax Refining LLC on July 3, 2025, with a performance period from July 6 through August 5, 2025. This one-time buy serves as a bridge contract while DLA Energy concludes its larger FY25 Inland/East/Gulf Coast bulk petroleum products procurement actions, ensuring continuity of fuel supply for Department of Defense operations.
