About this opportunity
The National Institutes of Health (NIH), specifically the National Center for Advancing Translational Science, is seeking specialized disassembly and storage services for three Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) units located in their Rockville, MD Chemistry Labs. The solicitation requires a contractor to disconnect, pack, shrink wrap, and secure all system components, including cables, pneumatic tubing, consoles, probes, sample changers, and helium lines for three specific NMR units: DD2 NMR400, DD2-600MHz, and 400MR. This is a non-competitive, sole-source procurement intended to be awarded directly to Agilent Technologies, Inc., with a brand name justification that indicates using non-Agilent services could potentially void existing warranties. Interested vendors must submit their electronic responses by January 2, 2025, at 10:00 AM EST, with submissions sent to brian.lind@nih.gov. Respondents are required to provide product details, pricing, delivery terms, and proof of manufacturer/reseller authorization, along with maintaining an active SAM registration.
The solicitation falls under NAICS category 811210 for Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance, with a size standard of $34 million and no specific set-aside designations. The place of performance is located in Rockville, MD 20852, where the NMR units are currently installed. While a specific award value is not explicitly stated, the procurement is for temporary disassembly and storage services in preparation for laboratory renovation. The scope of work involves carefully disconnecting and preparing three sophisticated scientific instruments for future reinstallation, indicating a highly technical and precision-oriented service requirement. Potential contractors must demonstrate expertise in handling complex scientific equipment and provide comprehensive documentation of their capabilities, including business identifiers like DUNS and TIN numbers. The timeline suggests the services will be performed in conjunction with an upcoming renovation project at the NIH facility.
