The contractor must demonstrate understanding of religiously pluralistic and denominational traditions. Minimum qualifications include two years' experience leading and executing music in Protestant congregational worship settings, proficiency in acoustic guitar with ability to lead from chord charts, and highly preferred piano proficiency with sight-reading capability for traditional and contemporary worship. The contractor must provide formal signed documentation from current pastor or church leadership (dated within 60 days) verifying active membership in good standing in a Protestant Christian congregation and demonstrate experience with diverse Protestant denominational styles including traditional hymns, gospel, and modern contemporary Christian music.
Work comprises approximately 164 hours annually: 2.5 weekly hours (one 1-hour rehearsal, one 1-hour performance, 30 minutes setup), one quarterly performance meeting (maximum 1 hour per quarter), and up to 30 anticipated annual hours for special services, meetings, and training. The contractor operates as an independent contractor responsible for applicable taxes, business licenses, and permits. Responsibilities include music direction and accompaniment, volunteer recruitment and supervision, weekly rehearsals, pre-service setup, music planning collaboration with final approval by the Wing Chaplain, equipment maintenance reporting, CCLI copyright reporting, and continuity binder maintenance.
