About this opportunity

The National Park Service Pacific West Region seeks rehabilitation and replacement of potable water production and wastewater conveyance infrastructure at Death Valley National Park, with proposals due September 15. The procurement is set aside for Total Small Business.

Place of performance is Death Valley National Park, California, spanning three work areas: Stovepipe Wells potable water production well, Stovepipe Wells conduit infrastructure, Coyote Loop Lift Station, and Furnace Creek Campground Lift Station. The scope requires removal and replacement of the Stovepipe Wells submersible pump assembly, motor, well power conductors, and control equipment; installation of a new 15 HP, 460-volt, three-phase Variable Frequency Drive (Yaskawa Configured IQ basis of design); installation of new Boreline flexible rising main with accessories; and startup, testing, and commissioning. Conduit replacement work includes removing existing Schedule 80 PVC conduit runs and installing new conduit with dedicated runs for pump power, instrumentation, and level transducer cabling, using watertight penetration sealing rated for 22 feet of water head pressure. At both lift stations, the contractor must remove and replace grinder pumps, repair control systems and replace failed electrical devices, and at Furnace Creek, replace the automatic transfer switch. All electrical work requires acceptance testing per ANSI/NETA ATS standards. The NAICS code is 237110, Water and Sewer Line and Related Structures Construction. The Period of Performance is 180 calendar days, with a detailed project schedule due within 14 days of Notice to Proceed and bi-weekly updates thereafter. The contract includes utility coordination, temporary bypass pumping systems, confined space entry operations, Government personnel training, and a minimum one-year warranty. Davis-Bacon prevailing wage rates apply, with rates established through August 2026 for California counties Inyo, Kern, and Mono. Quoters must provide past performance examples through three project references and identify any proposed subcontractors.
