About this opportunity
The U.S. Army Contracting Command–Redstone Arsenal issued a Request for Information on July 9, 2026, with a response deadline of July 16, 2026, to identify sources capable of supplying two Geiger-Mueller detector systems for the Army Primary Standards Laboratory at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. This is market research only and does not constitute a commitment to contract or solicitation for proposal.
The requirement covers one Model 1056A-200 Ratemeter Digital GM detector and one Model 897A-210 GM Detector System. The 1056A-200 must deliver a 5-decade range between 10² and 10⁵ mR/h, 15% energy response from 80 keV to 1.5 MeV, integral analog preamplifier, remote ratemeter capability up to 2,000 feet via single cable, no external power required at detector location, an 8 Ci ³⁶Cl check source, and life expectancy up to 10⁵ rads, with LCD graphical display and IP65 wallmount rating. The 897A-210 must be compatible with the 955A GM Area Monitor, offer three selectable 5-decade ranges from 10⁻² to 10⁵ R/h, feature integral preamp, seismic qualification, approximately 10⁵ rads life expectancy, remote ratemeter capability up to 1,700 feet, single cable connection, and 8 Ci ³⁶Cl check source.
Interested parties must respond via SAM.gov with company name, business size, socio-economic status, points of contact, CAGE Code, and Unique Entity Identifier. The procurement is classified under NAICS 334515 and PSC 6625. Set-aside status is to be determined. Contact Portia R. Sampson, Contracting Officer, at portia.r.sampson.civ@army.mil or 256-955-9135.
