About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Reserve Command is conducting market research for a Design-Build contractor to design and construct a covered parking structure for two composite-sized F-35 fighter aircraft, with capability statements due by June 29, 2026 at 5:00 PM EST (Sources Sought ID: HARBSS-2026-03).
Place of performance is Miami-Dade County, Florida. The structure must be a non-enclosed, standing seam metal roof canopy with a multiple-segment cantilevered gable-type design. Load-bearing structural columns positioned around the outside perimeter will support cantilevered roof joists or space frame extending into the covered interior space. Acceptable construction methods include Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB), Concrete Masonry Unit (CMU) block, tilt-up concrete panels, or other approved methods meeting design criteria.
Design and construction must comply with Miami-Dade County building requirements, ASCE/SEI 7-10 standards, and the latest edition of the Florida Building Code for High-Velocity Wind Zones. All hardware except stainless steel must be galvanized per ASTM A 153. The structure must include lightning protection and grounding systems, pavement striping, and aircraft tie-down and mooring points.
Respondents must submit a Capability Statement demonstrating company profile, business size and socioeconomic status, and relevant past performance on three similar projects completed within the last five years, with emphasis on high-velocity wind zone construction and DoD/Military design submittal compliance. The contractor will be responsible for providing design submittal packages at four stages (Type A2 at 35% design, Type B1 at 65% design, Type B2 at 100% pre-final design, and Type B3 at 100% final design) adhering to ANGETL 24-02 guidelines.
This is market research only; no formal solicitation is currently available, and the Government will not reimburse preparation or submission costs.
