About this opportunity

The U.S. Space Force Space Systems Command (SSC) is procuring Deployable Attritable Optical Systems through a single-award Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract. This procurement falls under Product Service Code 6650 (Optical Instruments, Test Equipment, Components and Accessories) and is being conducted as a sole-source acquisition pursuant to Section 804 of the FY2022 National Defense Authorization Act. The contract has been selected and approved for funding under the Accelerate the Procurement and Fielding of Innovative Technologies (APFIT) Program, which mandates the transition of innovative technologies through this acquisition pathway. Interested parties must submit responses within 15 calendar days from the publication date of March 17, 2026. The primary points of contact for this solicitation are Victoria N. Lloyd, Contracting Officer, and Andrew Jones, Contract Specialist, both located at SSC in Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado.

This procurement carries no set-aside designation. The government intends to negotiate exclusively with PlaneWave Instruments, located in Adrian, Michigan, as the sole source contractor. The specific contract award dollar amount, line item numbers, and contract award date have not been determined at this pre-solicitation stage. The proposed solicitation number is currently listed as "TBD" and will be provided upon formal release of the full solicitation. Given the IDIQ contract vehicle structure, the actual task orders and associated values will be determined during the execution phase following contract award.
