About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force, Air Education and Training Command, is conducting market research through a Request for Information for cubicle installation at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) Randolph, Building 399, under a Total Small Business set-aside, with responses due November 3, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. Central Time. The 502d Air Base Wing issued the RFI. Responses are voluntary, do not constitute a quote or binding commitment, and are used solely for technical and acquisition planning, with no notification of results. The RFI text cites "Tuesday, 03 October 2026," which predates the October 28, 2026 posting, while the structured due date reads November 3, 2026. Responses and questions go to Darreus Hiers (darreus.hiers@us.af.mil) and Joseph Gyakari (joseph.gyakari@us.af.mil). Respondents must state small business status, socio-economic classifications (HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, Women-Owned Small Business, or 8(a)), NAICS codes, capability, estimated lead time, and prior experience at military installations, hospitals, or commercial facilities.

The attached SOW describes installing cubicle furniture with contractor-provided materials, labor, transportation, management, and tools, using new materials only. The work includes surveying existing LAN infrastructure, testing connectivity to the existing fiber backbone, and Category 6A rough-in only where existing infrastructure is inadequate or damaged. The SOW states no additional LAN drops are required. Blue-sheathed CAT6 patch cables and new patch panels run between fiber optic distribution points and switches. Work must comply with UFC 3-580-01, NFPA 70 and 76, and EIA/TIA standards. The period of performance is an additional 52 days, Monday through Friday, 0630 to 1700, excluding federal holidays and site-unique down days. The contractor must provide a full-time on-site project manager, chair weekly Integrated Product Team meetings, and deliver a milestone installation schedule that serves as the technical factor for proposal submission. Warranty is one year for workmanship or the manufacturer's standard commercial warranty, whichever is longer. Personnel may require a DoD Secret clearance for classified areas. Base access requires a Site Visit Request Letter and an Installation Access Application submitted at least one week before arrival.
