About this opportunity
The Department of the Army Materiel Command Mission and Installation Contracting Command Fort Sam Houston is seeking to procure all labor, supervision, management, materials, equipment, and supplies necessary to provide, deliver, install, operate, and maintain self-contained HVAC units and associated support equipment for Cadet Summer Training (CST) at Fort Knox. This Sources Sought Notice is issued solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a formal solicitation or commitment to contract. The key requirement is to deliver and maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units across five military compounds while maintaining interior temperatures at 68 degrees Fahrenheit, with contractor personnel required to respond to service calls within four hours and replace unserviceable equipment within 24 hours. The Government will evaluate responses based on the capability of small businesses to meet the requirement at fair market price, with the notice specifically encouraging participation from all socioeconomic categories of small businesses. The deadline for responding to this Sources Sought Notice is March 23, 2026, and potential offerors must monitor the Government-wide Point of Entry for any future formal solicitation.
This procurement is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, provided that two or more qualified small businesses respond with sufficient information to support the set-aside designation. The notice does not identify any current incumbent contractors. Based on the Statement of Work, the contractor must deliver 26 units of 25-ton self-supported HVAC equipment and 7 units of 10-ton self-supported HVAC equipment across the five Fort Knox compounds, with full operational status required between May 19 and May 23, 2026. Operations shall continue through August 3-14, 2026, depending on the specific compound, representing a service period of approximately 2.5 to 3 months. The contractor must also provide 24/7 support with on-site repair technicians and all routine maintenance at no additional cost, with the Government supplying diesel fuel during the training period. No specific budget range is provided in the Sources Sought Notice, and the Government emphasizes that failure to respond does not preclude participation in any future formal solicitation.
