About this opportunity

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a sole source purchase order to CSBIO Instrumentation Co. for the procurement of a CSBIO Fully Automated Peptide Synthesizer. The system must have a 20 mL jacketed reaction vessel with automated software-integrated heating and cooling capabilities ranging from -20°C to 90°C. The justification for this sole source procurement cites the unique capabilities of the CSBIO CS136X model, which can synthesize peptide sequences up to 130-mers with precise temperature control, a requirement that other commercially available peptide synthesizers cannot meet. The CDC previously used an older version of this system and is seeking to replace it. Responses to this notice should be emailed to the contract specialist by May 21, 2024.

This procurement is not set aside for any specific business category. The CDC has determined that CSBIO Instrumentation Co. is the only reasonably available source that can meet the technical requirements. The total estimated procurement amount is not provided in the pre-solicitation notice. This contract action is for supplies or services where the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1).
