About this opportunity
The U.S. Army Contracting Command - Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG) is conducting market research to identify potential sources for a Counter Unmanned Aerial System (c-UAS) procurement. The agency seeks to acquire 4,145 c-UAS units designed to detect, track, and identify small unmanned aircraft systems (Groups 1, 2, and 3) with specific technical requirements including real-time classification, 360-degree detection, and portability for single soldiers. Interested businesses must submit a capabilities statement package no longer than ten pages, including company details, CAGE code, DUNS number, and registration information. Responses must be electronically submitted to Contract Specialist Milena Pomocka by 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time on June 4, 2025, with the synopsis number referenced in the email subject line. The government will use these submissions to determine the procurement method, which may include full and open competition or potential small business set-asides.
The pre-solicitation notice indicates that multiple awards may be possible, with all small business set-aside categories under consideration. The c-UAS system must meet specific technical characteristics, including a 4-hour water/dust resistance rating of IP65 or better, and critically, components cannot be manufactured in China. While no specific budget range is mentioned, the large quantity of 4,145 units suggests a significant potential contract value. The system is classified as a non-developmental, commercial item with an emphasis on minimal maintenance and inspection requirements at the organizational level. Additionally, the equipment must be exportable for use in Taiwan, which may impact potential bidders' capabilities. The procurement falls under NAICS category 33451 (Navigational, Measuring, Electromedical, and Control Instruments Manufacturing) and PSC category 1550 (Unmanned Aircraft).
