About this opportunity
The Department of the Army Materiel Command Contracting Command at Redstone Arsenal is seeking Counter-small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-sUAS) Soldier Common Solutions to enhance battlefield capabilities for detecting and defeating small unmanned aircraft. The procurement focuses on individual or crew-served systems that are Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) agnostic, wearable, handheld, or dismounted, capable of engaging small UAS through Electronic Warfare or augmented weapon optics. Interested vendors must submit a 10-page white paper by January 31, 2025, at 1:00 PM CST, addressing capabilities, potential solutions, and a point of contact. The evaluation will consider requirements such as single-soldier operation, minimal size/weight/power, ability to detect commercial Group 1-2 UAS within 3 minutes, and non-kinetic defeat capabilities. An Industry Day is scheduled for January 13, 2025, with registration required by January 8, and vendors should be prepared to demonstrate capabilities within one month's notice.
The solicitation currently has no specific set-aside designation and is considered market research with no immediate funding commitment. Support contractors from Axient and Green Research & Technology will assist in reviewing submissions. While no specific award value is disclosed, the Army indicates potential procurement of up to 500 systems with delivery expected within 7 months of award. The procurement will likely utilize Other Transaction Authority and requires vendors to have a Secret facility clearance. The system must be capable of detecting threat direction, providing sufficient warning time for soldiers to seek cover, and be intuitive, easy to learn and maintain, and usable in day and night operations. The Army's broader context includes a 2-year C-UAS Reset Strategy with planned demonstrations and procurement in Fiscal Year 2025.
