About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document related to an RFI for Counter-small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-sUAS) Soldier Common Solutions. The document contains five Q&A entries dated between January 8-13, 2025.

Key details include: Secret clearance and COMSEC storage authorization are mandatory requirements; the estimated quantity is up to 500 systems; the solution must be handheld/soldier-borne and not impede combat capabilities; procurement will be via Other Transaction Authority with delivery within 7 months of award; the program supports the Army's 2-year C-UAS Reset Strategy with planned demonstrations and procurement in FY25. The USG will provide a Performance Specification/Statement of Objectives during the subsequent RFP phase but will not share the Capabilities Development Document (CDD) with industry. Detection requirements specify that the system must identify threat direction and provide sufficient warning time for soldiers to find cover and concealment.

The terms "handheld" and "soldier borne" were both used during the industry day discussions.

Are man-pack-carried capabilities a viable solution for the soldier common requirement?

Handheld and Soldier Borne were terms that were used interchangeably. Soldiers will need to carry or wear a Soldier

Common C-sUAS capanility that does not affect their ability ro engage enemy comabtants, while simultaneously engaging UAS threats and unnecessarily weighing the soldier down.

What is the planned acquisition strategy? Small?

SDVOSB? WOSB? Etc.

The USG intends on using Other Transaction Authority to procure solution(s) for delivery within seven months from contract award.

About the orientation - does it mean the resolution of the orientation?

Also, are you able to expand on the definition of adequate detection time?

Are you saying the operator needs to be able to detect and react >3 minutes?
