About this opportunity

The General Services Administration, Public Building Service is soliciting a Texas-licensed fire alarm contractor to provide design-build services for the complete replacement of the fire alarm system at the Corpus Christi Federal Courthouse, a 4-story, 169,000 square-foot occupied federal building. The contractor must furnish all labor, tools, materials, equipment, supplies, and supervision necessary to install a new integrated fire alarm, voice communication, and evacuation system. Key qualifications include demonstrated past experience successfully completing at least three similar projects in occupied buildings of 150,000 square feet or larger with a minimum construction value of $750,000 each. Personnel requirements specify a Fire Alarm Systems Designer with NICET Level IV certification, current manufacturer certification, a Texas APS license, and five years of design experience, along with a Fire Alarm Systems Technician holding NICET Level III certification, current manufacturer certification, and three years of supervision and installation experience. Equipment must be sourced from manufacturers with a minimum of three authorized independent fire alarm installation contractors within 250 miles of the project site, and acceptable manufacturers include Siemens Building Technologies, EST, and Notifier. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on February 18, 2026, with a response deadline of March 2, 2026, though this announcement is for source identification purposes only and does not constitute an active solicitation.

This pre-solicitation notice includes no set-aside designations for small businesses or other protected categories. The project timeline is anticipated to span approximately 365 days from award, though no specific contract value or budget range is disclosed in this announcement. No incumbent contractor or current service provider is identified in the notice. While the pre-solicitation notice does not provide an estimated award value, the qualification requirement that contractors demonstrate three completed projects with minimum individual values of $750,000 suggests the total contract value will likely exceed that threshold. Interested contractors should monitor the GSA website for the formal solicitation, which will provide additional details regarding proposal requirements, evaluation criteria, and the specific scope of work for this federal courthouse fire alarm replacement project.
