About this opportunity
The U.S. Embassy in Mexico City, under the Department of State, is seeking a contractor to provide vacant property maintenance services for two commercial properties located in Mexico City: the former Embassy building in the Reforma area and the former Benjamin Franklin Library. The objective of this contract is to maintain both properties in an orderly condition and ensure they remain presentable to the surrounding community. All responsible sources are eligible to submit quotations, and the Government may award the contract based on the initial offer without discussion, indicating that discussions may not be conducted. A critical requirement is that offerors must be registered in SAM.gov at the time of proposal submission; failure to maintain active registration will result in the proposal being deemed non-responsive and ineligible for further consideration. The Government plans to conduct a site visit prior to solicitation issuance, with the date to be provided in the formal solicitation document. This is a firm fixed-price contract type, and interested parties are strongly encouraged to complete their SAM registration in advance.
This opportunity carries no set-aside designation and is open to all eligible commercial contractors. The anticipated performance period consists of a base year plus one optional year period, subject to Government exercise of the option. No incumbent contractor information, specific award value, or budget range has been disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice. The solicitation has not yet been issued on SAM.gov as of the posting date of February 9, 2026, and the Embassy will launch the formal Request for Quotation when it becomes available. Interested contractors should monitor SAM.gov for the official solicitation release and take note of the mandatory site visit requirement outlined in the upcoming formal announcement.
