About this opportunity
Air Combat Command anticipates procuring a 36-inch Professional 60W CO2 Laser System for Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida, under a Total Small Business set-aside with a response date of July 23, 2026.
The system is an Epilog or equivalent laser engraver designed to provide in-house fabrication and marking capabilities for aerospace maintenance operations. Technical specifications include a 36" x 24" workspace with up to 10 inches maximum Z-depth clearance, engraving speeds up to 120 inches per second with 5G peak acceleration, high-speed brushless DC servo motors with rotary encoding, advanced double-wide Kevlar precision drive belts, and ground/polished stainless steel self-lubricating bearings. The system incorporates an integrated dual-overhead camera vision system for real-time positioning with user-controlled optical resolution from 75 to 1200 DPI, integrated air assist for heat and gas management, and safety shielding with Class 2 Laser Product rating. Connectivity includes built-in Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and USB 2.0/3.0, with a 7-inch LED touchscreen for on-machine control and 1 GB on-board RAM for job storage. The cabinet measures 53.52 inches wide by 32.81 inches deep by 38.04 inches high and weighs approximately 260 pounds.
The system will support applications across Aerospace Ground Equipment, Low Observable maintenance, and Metals Technology for fabricating data plates, instructional panels, safety placards, gaskets, masking films, stencils, templates, jigs, fixtures, and permanent markings on anodized aluminum, stainless steel, and titanium components. The procurement aims to eliminate manual cutting and engraving processes, reducing maintenance downtime and man-hours while improving accuracy and repeatability.
