About this opportunity

The National Institute of Standards and Technology, a division of the Department of Commerce, is soliciting a CMOS Microelectrode Array System with an offer due date of August 5, 2026, under a WOSB set-aside (original offer deadline July 30, 2026, extended by Amendment 0001 posted July 23, 2026).

Place of performance is Gaithersburg, Maryland. The procurement requires delivery of one High Density Microelectrode System, 80 CMOS Microelectrode Array Sensor Inserts, and one Computer for Data Recording, Analysis, and Control, plus installation, training, and shipping within 8 weeks of award. The system must deliver 1,000 simultaneous voltage recording channels per well with noise at or below 10 VRMS and support 30 simultaneous stimulation channels per well. All items must be new and manufacturer-authorized. The system must include real-time data access and analysis software with MATLAB or Python control, hardware for synchronizing and triggering recordings to external equipment, and a software API for active experimental control including closed-loop feedback and automation capabilities. Amendment 0001 clarifies that recording subjects are in vitro neurons, neuronal organoids, and microphysiological systems; video tracking camera and motorized commutator are not required. Contractor shall provide initial training for up to 2 users and manuals. The microelectrode system carries a 12-month limited warranty; consumable microarrays carry a 6-month limited warranty. Payment is 100% upon installation, acceptance, completion of testing, and successful demonstration of technical compliance. NAICS 334513; PSC 6640. Quotations address technical capability, demonstrated experience, price, and terms and conditions in four volumes. Evaluation weighs technical capability (Factor 1) and prior demonstrated experience (Factor 2) more heavily than price (Factor 3).
