About this opportunity

The Indian Health Service (IHS) has published a Notice of Intent to Award a sole source contract to Joint Accreditation c/o ACPE for payment of annual Clinical Support Centers (CSC) Joint Accreditation recertification fees and associated services. This special notice, posted on January 21, 2026, with a due date of February 5, 2026, represents a procurement valued between $25,000 and $250,000. The contracting action is being pursued under FAR 6.303-1 authority, citing that only one responsible source can satisfy the agency's requirements. The IHS seeks to maintain professional accreditation standards to support comprehensive health care services delivered to American Indians and Alaska Natives through the IHS hospital and clinic system. Interested parties may submit comments or questions to Contract Officer Brendon Moran at brendon.moran@ihs.gov demonstrating clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous, cost-effective, and supportive of the IHS mission.

The primary objective of this procurement is to sustain the CSC's Joint Accreditation provider status, which the organization has maintained since 2018 across seven healthcare professions including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, physician assistants, psychologists, social workers, and dietitians. The contract structure includes a 12-month base period (January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2026) valued at $35,500, with four optional 12-month renewal periods extending through December 31, 2030, with a total estimated spend of $193,539.10. Joint Accreditation is recognized as the first and only accrediting body worldwide offering simultaneous accreditation for continuing education activities across multiple healthcare professions through a unified application process and fee structure. The contractor must provide accredited continuing education services, access to the Joint Accreditation Program and Reporting System (JA-PARS), annual provider reports, and support for interprofessional continuing education initiatives. Failure to maintain accreditation status would result in approximately $4.5 million in annual lost continuing education credits and significantly jeopardize the CSC's ability to support the IHS mission across Indian country.
