About this opportunity

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Utah Region is seeking competitive quotes from small business vendors for fossil excavation and stabilization services at the Jurassic National Monument (JNM) in Utah. The Request for Quotation (RFQ) is a total small business set-aside with a firm fixed price contract type. Quotations are due by July 9, 2024 and must be submitted via email. Award will be made to the lowest priced, technically acceptable quote. The work requires a BLM-permitted paleontologist to excavate Jurassic-aged fossils within a disturbance zone for a new building at the Cleveland Lloyd Dinosaur Quarry. The period of performance is August 1, 2024 to July 14, 2025. Vendors must demonstrate permit qualifications, technical capability, and experience for this work.

This is a new requirement, not an extension of an existing contract. The contractor is expected to transport the fossils to a secured location within 175 miles of the CLDQ site. The total new surface area for excavation is not expected to exceed 300 square feet. The repository location is still being determined, but will be within 175 miles in Utah.
