About this opportunity

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases awarded a competitive multiple-award IDIQ contract to SRI International for chemistry, manufacturing and controls and related services for development of drug products, with the award made on July 3, 2026.

The contract ceiling is $49,885,703. The ordering period runs from July 3, 2026 through July 31, 2031. Task orders will be issued predominantly as cost-reimbursement, term/completion type; fixed-price task orders may be issued where appropriate and feasible. The Government determined that cost-reimbursement is necessary because the work is dynamic, science-responsive, and result-driven, with evolving requirements that lack precise specifications and cannot be accurately estimated upfront. The contractor is eligible for task orders under Technical Area 1. The award followed unrestricted competition and used no set-aside.

Notice text

A competitive multiple award, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) type contract was awarded, with a ordering period (July 3, 2026 through July 31, 2031). It is anticipated that Task Orders issued against these contracts will most likely be cost-reimbursement, term/completion type Task Orders. Upon analysis of the type of work and all associated costs involved, fixed-price type task orders are usually not feasible due to the absence of precise specifications and difficulties in estimating costs with accuracy. Based upon the uncertainties involved, the Government would assume undue risk in attempting to fit relatively dynamic (science responsive and result-drive) requirement into a fixed-price environment. In these instances, fixed-price task orders would be disadvantageous to the Government, since they do not provide the Government with the flexibility that is needed to reasonably and responsively shift with the evolving needs of this requirement. However, fixed price Task Order may be issued, where appropriate and feasible.

The Contractor is eligible for Task Orders under Technical Area 1.
