About this opportunity
The Department of State is seeking a contractor to replace window glazing and refurbish select aluminum window frames at the U.S. Embassy chancery building in Copenhagen, Denmark. The project involves restoration work on a historic 1954 building that is listed on the Bureau of Overseas Building's List of Significant Properties as an example of postwar Modernism, requiring the preservation of original aluminum frames while replacing the 70-year-old glazing that has reached end of service life. Contractors must possess all necessary licenses and permits to conduct business in Denmark, including obtaining a CVR number and fulfilling Danish tax obligations. The government intends to award an Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract to the responsible company submitting the lowest acceptable price, potentially without holding discussions. Key dates include a mandatory pre-proposal conference and site visit on July 10, 2025, questions due by July 15, 2025, and proposals due by August 12, 2025 at 13:00 local time.
This solicitation does not utilize any set-aside designations and is open to all qualified contractors. No current incumbents or potential contractors are mentioned in the opportunity notice. While specific award values or budget ranges are not disclosed, the contract structure is an IDIQ arrangement suggesting potential for multiple task orders over the contract period. The work will be performed at the U.S. Embassy located at Dag Hammarskjolds Alle 24, 2100 Copenhagen O, Denmark. Contractors must provide material samples at no cost for all proposed materials and submit proposals in two volumes with both hard copy and electronic formats, along with proof of SAM registration and completion of required forms including SF-1442 and various certifications.
Notice text
The U.S. Embassy has a requirement for a firm to replace window glazing and refurbish select aluminum window frames and hardware at the U.S. Embassy chancery building in Copenhagen, Denmark. The building, completed in 1954, is inscribed on the Bureau of Overseas Building’s List of Significant Properties, as an example of postwar Modernism and the U.S. Department of State’s use of the architectural style as a symbol of American societal values of openness and democratic exchange. The glazing, over 70 years old, has reached the end of its service life and must be replaced while retaining the original frames. Due to the historic character of the building, this scope aims to take a restoration approach, and the original aluminum frames must remain in place during the glazing replacement.
If you would like to submit a proposal, follow the instructions in Section J of the solicitation, complete the required portions of the attached document, and submit it to the address shown on the Standard Form that follows this letter.
The U.S. Government intends to award an Indefinite Delivey, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract to the responsible company submitting an acceptable offer at the lowest price. Specifically, the Danish Tax authorities expect businesses to obtain a CVR number and fulfill tax obligations. You should review local laws before submitting a proposal.
