Embassy of the United States of America Copenhagen, Denmark
Date: July 3, 2025
Dear Prospective Offeror:
Subject: Request for Proposals 19DA2025R0002
The U.S. Embassy has a requirement for a firm to replace window glazing and refurbish select aluminum window frames and hardware at the U.S. Embassy chancery building in Copenhagen, Denmark. The building, completed in 1954, is inscribed on the Bureau of Overseas Building’s List of Significant Properties, as an example of postwar Modernism and the U.S. Department of State’s use of the architectural style as a symbol of American societal values of openness and democratic exchange. The glazing, over 70 years old, has reached the end of its service life and must be replaced while retaining the original frames. Due to the historic character of the building, this scope aims to take a restoration approach, and the original aluminum frames must remain in place during the glazing replacement.
If you would like to submit a proposal, follow the instructions in Section J of the solicitation, complete the required portions of the attached document, and submit it to the address shown on the Standard Form that follows this letter.
The U.S. Government intends to award an Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract to the responsible company submitting an acceptable offer at the lowest price. We intend to award a contract based on initial proposals, without holding discussions, although we may hold discussions with companies in the competitive range.
Please pay attention to a crucial requirement outlined in the DOSAR 652.242-73. This requirement mandates that all vendors possess the necessary licenses and permits to conduct business in Denmark. Specifically, the Danish Tax authorities expect businesses to obtain a CVR number and fulfill tax obligations. You should review local laws before submitting a proposal.
The Embassy intends to conduct a pre-proposal conference and site visit on July 10, 2025 at 13:00 (local time) at the Embassy located at Dag Hammarskjolds Alle 24, 2100 Copenhagen O.
