About this opportunity
The U.S. Coast Guard is seeking a qualified contractor to perform stern tube bearing alignment surveys on the CGC PIKE, an 87' WPB Cutter, during a scheduled drydock availability at Base Ketchikan, Alaska. The solicitation requires a technical representative with optical or laser alignment capabilities to conduct precise shaft alignment measurements in accordance with specific USCG technical references. Contractors must provide all necessary equipment to record vertical and athwartship alignment positions, measure stern tube/seal flange and reduction gear centerline positions, and generate a final report with results and recommendations. The contract will be awarded using a Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) evaluation method, with quotations due by May 28, 2025, at 2:00 PM Alaska Time. Interested contractors must submit a completed price schedule, provide a description of relevant past performance, and confirm active registration in the System for Award Management (SAM).
This contract opportunity is set aside for total small business participation and is structured with base and optional line items for shaft alignment checks. The base work is scheduled for approximately 16-20 June 2025, with potential option tasks for realignment and post-realignment checks dependent on initial findings. Contractors must include all travel, labor, equipment, and overhead costs within their quoted price, with no additional travel reimbursement permitted. The place of performance is USCG Base Ketchikan located at 1300 Stedman Street in Ketchikan, Alaska. Funding is currently available only for the base line items (CLINs 0001 and 0002), with optional tasks to be funded at the government's discretion. All contractor personnel working on-site must wear visible contractor-issued identification and identify themselves as contractors while on government property. The government reserves the right to make an award without further discussions.
