About this opportunity
The U.S. Department of State, specifically the Narcotics Affairs Section at the U.S. Embassy in Mexico, is seeking to procure hand and powered tools for a collaborative U.S.-Mexico criminal activity prevention and mitigation effort. The Request for Quotations (RFQ 19MX9025Q0008) targets 41 different tool and equipment types, including cordless drills, magnetic drills, tool sets, welding equipment, generators, and safety gear. Vendors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and submit detailed technical specifications that comply with federal requirements, including export control regulations and anti-discrimination certifications. The government will evaluate and award a firm-fixed-price purchase order to the lowest-priced, technically acceptable vendor. The solicitation requires electronic submission of quotations by May 7, 2025, at 16:00 hours Mexico City time to mexicocityinlprocurement@groups.state.gov.
The solicitation does not include any specific set-aside designations and will be awarded on a competitive basis. The tools will be distributed between Veracruz and Lazaro Cardenas ports, with the place of performance located at Manuel Contreras, 91899 Veracruz, Ver., Mexico. All items must be new, unused, and covered by manufacturer warranties. While specific award values are not detailed in the documents, the procurement covers a comprehensive range of 41 tool and equipment types supporting cross-border law enforcement training and operational capabilities. The contract appears to be part of a long-term collaborative effort between U.S. and Mexican governments to detect, deter, and mitigate criminal activities, suggesting potential for future related procurements in this domain.
