About this opportunity

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) under the Department of Homeland Security has issued a Request for Information seeking market research on an Edge Computing Platform for Fiscal Year 2025. The agency is seeking vendors capable of delivering secure, self-contained compute nodes with advanced capabilities including GPU-accelerated AI models for video and sensor stream processing, Kubernetes-orchestrated containerized applications, and AI-driven threat detection within a zero-trust architecture framework. Key technical requirements include integration with existing DHS technologies such as TAK, RVSS, and IFT platforms, along with resilient networking and dynamic resource scaling capabilities. This is strictly a market research exercise under FAR Part 10 with no guarantee of future solicitation, and vendors must address all questions in three specified sections while limiting responses to five pages maximum. The response deadline is June 23, 2025, with all submitted information becoming government property upon submission.

This procurement opportunity operates under NAICS code 334511 for Search, Detection, Navigation, Guidance, Aeronautical, and Nautical System and Instrument Manufacturing, with no set-aside designation applied. The RFI requests vendors to provide comprehensive information about their contract vehicles, business size classifications, and socioeconomic categories, including various small business designations such as woman-owned, veteran-owned, HUBZone, and 8(a) certified firms. CBP plans to publish potential future solicitation details through the DHS Acquisition Planning Forecast System, though no specific award values, quantities, or contract timeline details are provided in this preliminary market research phase. The agency emphasizes that this effort focuses on demonstrating containerized edge computing capabilities and identifying qualified vendors with commercially available technology solutions that can meet the specified requirements. No incumbent contractors or current service providers are mentioned in the documentation.
