About this file
This document is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for an Edge Computing Platform, seeking market research on potential vendor capabilities for a future solicitation in FY25. The RFI focuses on identifying vendors with edge computing servers that can provide secure, self-contained compute nodes supporting AI-driven threat detection, zero-trust enforcement, and resilient networking, with specific technical requirements including GPU-accelerated AI model processing, Kubernetes orchestration, real-time metadata streaming, and seamless integration with existing DHS technologies like TAK, RVSS, and IFT platforms.
The RFI requests vendors to provide details on their contract vehicles, business size, and socioeconomic categories, with options ranging from small business classifications to various ownership designations such as woman-owned, veteran-owned, HUBZone, and SBA certified categories. The primary NAICS Code for this requirement is 334511, and CBP emphasizes that this is purely a market research exercise with no guarantee of future solicitation, limiting responses to a maximum of 5 pages and clarifying that all submitted information becomes government property upon submission.

Background and Contact Information:
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has a requirement for a Edge Computing Platform as specified below. The effort focuses on demonstrating containerized edge computing, secure data transport, AI-based threat detection, and remote update capabilities within a zero-trust architecture framework. The primary purpose of this RFI/Sources Sought Notice is to identify if there is enough interested and qualified vendors that currently have capabilities to deliver the required services which would submit a proposal if a solicitation is issued in FY25.
The NAICS Code for this requirement is 334511.
When a requirement is developed, CBP will publish an its intention to solicit though the DHS Acquisition Planning Forecast System. https://apfs-cloud.dhs.gov/.
Information Sought:
1. Your company’s ability to deliver Edge Computing Servers and Support in providing secure, self-contained compute nodes that support AI-driven threat detection, zero-trust enforcement, and resilient networking:
· Processing video and sensor streams locally using GPU-accelerated AI models for tasks like object detection, motion tracking, or classification.
· Buffers and streams real-time metadata to downstream systems for further analysis or storage.
· Kubernetes orchestrates containerized AI models and applications, scaling them dynamically based on the number of incoming video feeds and/or sensor computational demand.
· Monitors system performance, visualizes usage trends, allowing operators to identify bottlenecks.
· Virtualization ensures resource isolation and flexibility, enabling efficient resource management.
· Ability for seamless integration existing DHS technologies, including TAK, RVSS, IFT, MSC, MVSS and command center platforms.
2. Please identify all contracts vehicles (i.e. GSA Schedule, NASA SEWP, etc.) that your company holds and are applicable to this requirement.
