Work scope included installing two new control joints in the south wall with backer rods and sealant; widening the middle control joint to minimum one-half inch width with new backer rod and sealant; removing and replacing existing sealant in seven additional control joints (approximately 30 feet in length) with minimum one-half inch sealant depth; repairing damaged Exterior Insulation and Finish System (EIFS) at the wall top; and removing all construction debris with off-site disposal. The building remains occupied during construction, requiring minimal operational interference. Regular working hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding government holidays.
All contractor personnel must comply with MCAS Cherry Point security requirements, including DBIDS registration or One-Day Passes and hard hat requirements in designated areas. Contract completion was scheduled for 60 calendar days after award. The Government's estimated cost range was $25,000 to $100,000. Award was to be made on a lowest-price basis without discussions unless the Government determined discussions necessary. NAICS code is 236220, Commercial and Institutional Building Construction. Davis-Bacon prevailing wage rates applied for North Carolina counties (Craven, Jones, and Pamlico), ranging from $12.94 to $33.96 per hour by labor classification.
