About this opportunity
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Office of Acquisition Services intends to award a sole source purchase order for calibration services supporting the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases' (NCIRD) ViewPoint Continuous Monitoring System. The procurement requires annual calibration of temperature and humidity measurement probes used throughout designated spaces within the monitoring system to maintain accurate readings. This is a sole source procurement under the authority of FAR 12.102(a) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1), meaning the government currently intends to negotiate with only one source. While this pre-solicitation notice is not a competitive request for quotations, the government will consider all responses received within 15 days of the notice issuance and will determine at its sole discretion whether to proceed with a sole source award or conduct a competitive procurement. Interested parties must submit responses to the contract specialist at kuz4@cdc.gov by 5:00 PM on May 9, 2026.
No set-aside designation applies to this procurement. Mesa Labs is identified as the current contractor for this requirement, suggesting they are the incumbent provider of ViewPoint system calibration services. The pre-solicitation notice does not disclose a specific award value or budget range for this purchase order. Key details indicate this is an annual recurring service requirement, as the temperature and humidity probes require calibration on an annual basis to support the ViewPoint system's operational effectiveness. The procurement falls under NAICS code 334513 (Instruments and Related Products Manufacturing) and PSC code 6685 (Pressure, Temperature, and Humidity Measuring and Controlling Instruments), reflecting the technical nature of the calibration services sought.
