About this opportunity

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) seeks contractors to perform inspection, calibration, maintenance, and repair of Class S and Class 1 weights, balances, and mechanical volumetric dispensing devices at the National Water Quality Laboratory in Denver, Colorado. The solicitation (140G0225Q0103) requires vendors to have NIST-traceable and ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accredited certifications for all equipment types covered under the contract. Primary requirements include conducting two annual balance inspections, quarterly mechanical volumetric dispensing device inspections, and annual Class S and Class 1 weight verifications. The evaluation will be based on a best value determination where past performance and qualifications are significantly more important than price. All quotations must be submitted electronically to kkeuma@usgs.gov by 2:00 PM Eastern on August 27, 2025.

This solicitation was originally designated as a small business set-aside but has been amended to remove that designation, making it open to all qualified vendors under NAICS code 811210 (Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance). The contract includes a base performance period from September 18, 2025 to September 17, 2030, with four one-year option periods and a potential six-month extension. All work will be performed at the USGS National Water Quality Laboratory located in Denver, Colorado. Offerors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and provide proof of required certifications along with their quote broken down by year. The solicitation does not identify any current incumbent contractor or specify award values.
