About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is conducting market research to identify potential manufacturing sources for a Cable Assembly, POWE (NSN: 6150-01-411-1681, Part Number: 11472449-2) in support of the AVENGER weapon system. This Sources Sought Synopsis is not a solicitation but rather a notice to qualified manufacturers that the agency is evaluating the competitive landscape and potential for small business set-asides for this procurement. Interested contractors must meet prequalification requirements and demonstrate the capability to produce the specified cable assembly while complying with all special requirements outlined in future solicitation documents. The evaluation criteria will focus on contractors' ability to successfully perform manufacturing and comply with the established terms and conditions at the unit prices set during contract award. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on January 15, 2026, with a due date of January 19, 2026; however, since this is a Sources Sought notice rather than an active solicitation, contractors should submit source approval requests through AvMC's public website at https://www.avmc.army.mil/Directorates/SRD/TechDataMgmt to position themselves as potential competitors for future solicitations.
This procurement is being conducted under Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1(a)(1), indicating that only a limited number of responsible sources are available for this item. No set-aside designation has been applied at this time; however, the Defense Logistics Agency has expressed interest in soliciting responses from 8(a) contractors, small businesses, small disadvantaged businesses, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned enterprises, HUBZone firms, and Women-Owned small business concerns. The notice does not identify any current contractors or incumbents, nor does it provide specific award values or budget ranges for this procurement. Contractors must be prepared to assume responsibility for all recurring and nonrecurring engineering services associated with becoming a qualified source, as well as all manufacturing and production responsibilities. Specific details regarding quantity requirements, contract timeline, and award value are not disclosed in this market research phase and will be determined during the formal solicitation process.
