About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is procuring a C-5 Avionics Regulated Transformer Rectifier Unit (RTRU) 400 AMP through a single Requirements Indefinite Delivery Contract (IDC) intended as a sole source award to GE Aviation under FAR 6.302-1. The government does not possess data or manufacturing rights for this item, which carries National Stock Number 6120-01-524-9044 and part number 716340-1. The formal Request for Proposal (RFP SPRWA1-26-R-0016) is estimated to be posted within 15 days following the close of this pre-solicitation synopsis, with a response deadline of February 23, 2026. While this is designated as a sole source procurement with GE Aviation as the intended contractor, FAR 5.207(c)(16)(ii) permits all responsible sources to submit bids, proposals, or quotations for agency consideration. The procurement falls under NAICS 335311 (Power, Distribution, and Specialty Transformer Manufacturing) and PSC code 6120 (Transformers: Distribution and Power Station).
This procurement includes no set-aside designation and targets GE Aviation (CAGE 19623) as the sole source contractor, though the fairness clause allows competitive submissions from other qualified vendors. The government estimates a requirement for 60 units with a delivery timeline of 38 weeks after receipt of order. No specific budget range or award value is disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice. The contract structure as an Indefinite Delivery vehicle provides flexibility for future quantity adjustments based on the government's needs. Interested contractors should monitor for the formal RFP release expected in mid-February 2026 to submit competitive proposals or quotations within the established timeframe.
