About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network 17, seeks to procure eight brand-name-only Pyxis MedStation units manufactured by BD/CareFusion, with proposals due July 7, 2026, and technical questions due June 30, 2026. This is a sole-source acquisition; competition is restricted to BD/CareFusion because the Pyxis ES platform uses proprietary closed architecture and only its MedStations can interface with the existing centralized server and 80+ devices currently deployed across CTVHCS facilities.
Place of performance includes the Waco campus (seven units in inpatient and outpatient care areas) and the Austin campus (one unit in the Radiology patient care area). The procurement includes one main 2-door MedStation, four 7-drawer auxiliary units, two auxiliary tower units, and one additional 2-door MedStation, with all items requiring installation, programming, and testing. The NAICS code is 339112, Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing, with a size standard of 1,000 employees. The PSC code is 6515, Medical and Surgical Instruments, Equipment, and Supplies.
Contractor scope includes delivery, installation, programming, and testing and verification of proper operation. Coordination is required with the Contracting Officer's Representative, Charles Bartley (Pharmacy Tech Supervisory), and the Supervisory Point of Contact, Cynthia Surber (Administrative Officer). The government will award a firm-fixed-price contract to the responsible offeror with the lowest evaluated price that meets technical acceptability standards. Evaluation criteria and weighting are not specified in the source materials. Offers must include signed SF 1449, vendor information, firm fixed-price quotations covering all labor, materials, overhead, and delivery/installation costs, technical and price volumes submitted separately, small business representations, Buy American certificate, and an authorized distributor/reseller letter from the manufacturer.
