About this opportunity
The Air Force Installation Contracting Agency intends to renew a brand-name Class Justification and Approval (J&A) for standardization of Fire Alarm Control Panels across USAF installations, and is soliciting industry feedback via Request for Information (RFI notice FA805126Q4004) with responses due by June 8, 2026, at 4:00 P.M. CST.
The proposed Class J&A covers fiscal years 2027 through 2032 and extends the existing authorization originally approved in December 2021. Individual Air Force installations will retain the option to select standard FACP brands based on existing inventory when new or replacement systems are required; systems will be procured through local dealers and distributors supporting the standardized brands.
The procurement falls under NAICS 335313 (Switchgear and Switchboard Apparatus Manufacturing) with a small business employee threshold of 1,250. No set-aside is anticipated.
The Air Force requests responses limited to two pages, identifying the respondent's company role (manufacturer, supplier, or both) and addressing eight specific technical and commercial questions: FACP sales data to federal agencies, proprietary diagnostic software access for government personnel, OEM-approved training availability and volume discounts, parts availability processes, and whether FACP standardization remains an industry best practice for reducing lifecycle costs. Respondents must provide company name and address, point of contact, CAGE code, SAM registration status, DUNS number, business size, and socio-economic categories. All submissions are voluntary and non-proprietary.
Contracting Officer Tommy G. Leos, Jr. (tommy.leos.2@us.af.mil) at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida, is the point of contact.
