About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Air Combat Command is conducting market research for a Boat Motor Installation Kit at Davis Monthan AFB. The pre-solicitation notice seeks vendors capable of replacing older 300hp Mercury Verado (2017) motors with newer 300hp Mercury Verado (2024) motors, with a requirement for three total installation kits. Interested vendors must submit a capability statement to joshua.miao.1@us.af.mil by May 20, 2025. Participants are expected to specify whether they are a Mercury Authorized Dealer and provide detailed information about Mercury part numbers and quantities as outlined in the attached documentation. While this is not an official solicitation and no award will be made during this market research phase, vendors will be evaluated based on their ability to meet the specific motor replacement requirements.
The opportunity is not designated with any specific set-aside status and falls under the Motor and Generator Manufacturing NAICS category (335312). The procurement is classified under the Product Service Code 2805 for gasoline reciprocating engines and components. No specific award value or budget range was disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice. The scope involves procuring installation kits for three boat motors, with a focus on transitioning from 2017 to 2024 Mercury Verado 300hp models. Vendors are expected to demonstrate technical capability, dealer authorization, and precise parts matching through their submitted capability statements. The market research phase suggests the government is exploring potential sources and gathering preliminary information before formal solicitation.
