About this opportunity

The Naval Supply Systems Command intends to procure two units of an electrical hardware component (NSN 1H-5975-016712041) with delivery to DLA Distribution Norfolk, Virginia under FAR 6.302-1 sole-source authority, with a 45-day response window closing September 29, 2026.

The Government has determined that data rights to this part are not owned by the Government and cannot be purchased or developed, and that reverse engineering is uneconomical, supporting the sole-source justification. The component is not being acquired as a commercial item despite market research. All responsible sources may submit proposals, quotations, or capability statements; however, the Government retains sole discretion to proceed with sole-source negotiation or conduct a competitive procurement based on responses received. Proposals submitted within the 45-day notice period will be considered for competitive purposes. Interested parties may alternatively submit evidence of commercial-item availability within 15 days of publication to request application of FAR Part 12 commercial acquisition policies.
