About this opportunity
The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency seeks proposals to develop spacecraft autonomy hardware and software elements to support the Blackjack low Earth orbit satellite constellation providing global persistent coverage. Proposals are due by April 12, 2019 and must address classified aspects of the Pit Boss autonomy system and technical focus areas including mission architecture, software development, and encryption. Evaluation will consider the proposed approach, key personnel, and ability to meet the objectives of developing an architecture and associated software/hardware to enable a proliferated constellation to continuously deliver target data without human intervention.
There is no set-aside designation. The opportunity involves research and development under NAICS code 541715 and PSC code R408. Multiple awards are anticipated not to exceed a total budget of $38.5 million over three phases concluding in 2022. Phases will focus on requirements definition, preliminary design, and detailed design/demonstration with the goal of operating 20 demonstration satellites by the end of Phase 3.
