About this opportunity

The United States Air Force Test Center has issued a Special Notice for a proposed contract action concerning the Benefield Anechoic Facility Antenna Systems (BAF Ants) project. The notice identifies a sole-source contract opportunity with Applied Research Associates (ARA) under the statutory 10 USC 3204(c)(1) provision. The contract is specifically for developing advanced antenna systems for electronic warfare testing and evaluation capabilities at Edwards Air Force Base. The government has determined that ARA is the only source capable of providing the highly specialized services required at the necessary quality level. The notice emphasizes that this is not a formal solicitation, but a preliminary notification of intended contract action.

Contractors interested in this opportunity should be aware that the contract will be a Cost-Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF) and Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) arrangement with a 5-year base period and a six-month option period. The total estimated contract value is approximately $23 million, focused on developing 6-12 mobile antenna systems capable of radiating frequencies between 2-18 GHz. Participation is voluntary, and no reimbursement will be provided for any information submitted. Eligible contractors can submit a capabilities statement in response to the source sought notice posted on SAM.gov, referencing solicitation FA930425R5002. Submissions should be directed to Jaymi Taplin (Contract Specialist) and Jenny L. Meadlin (Contracting Officer) via their Air Force email addresses. No foreign participation is allowed, and the primary objective is to enhance electronic warfare test and evaluation capabilities through advanced antenna system development.
